In the not too distant future, alien invaders are monitoring our transmissions, as is the habit of alien invaders. They watch and they listen. They hide in the distant reaches of the Solar System, hoping to find a weakness and plotting against us.
All is well and good, until someone on the ship makes a fateful error in understanding what they are seeing.
Unbeknownst to the People of Earth, the invaders change their plans and give us a wide birth, thus avoiding the typical fate of invading aliens.
