Sometimes a story needs to be told—it just doesn’t need a lot of words. Here I’ll share tales of a shorter, more compact nature, like Flash Fiction, twitterature, minisaga, drabble, etc.

Too Tight Genes
A drabble by W. Steve Wilson
Inspector MacDonald flashed his badge. “Where’s the geneticist?”
The gardener pointed. “5B. I’ll get him.”
“No. I’ll get him.” Hank found Lightfoot thirty meters up in the lunar city’s hydroponics stack.
“Lightfoot! You need to come with me. Your wife Magna’s dead. Poisoned by your tomatoes.”
“I didn’t poison anyone. Those tomatoes are fine.”
“The lab found the toxin engineered for Magna’s genome. Now two people are dead.”
“I wouldn’t hurt Magna. And what two people?”
“Nice try. Your sister called. Told us about your affair with your sister-in-law. And Lightfoot—Magna served them at lunch with her twin sister.”
